Jessica Marie Alba is an American actress from the United States. She started her television and movie appearances at age thirteen in Camp Nowhere and The Secret World of Alex Mack (1994), but became famous at the age of 19 as the main actress in the television series Dark Angel (2000-2002), for which she received a Golden Globe nomination. Honey (2003) was her biggest screen success. She quickly became a Hollywood actor and has appeared in numerous box office hits in films which include Fantastic Four (2005). Jessica Marie Alba, a daughter of Mark David Alba (nee Jensen) was born in Pomona California on April 28th, 1981. Her mother is of Danish, Welsh, German, English and French ancestry, while her paternal grandparents, born in California, were both the children of Mexican immigrants. Joshua, her younger brother is also hers. Gustavo Arellano is her third cousin. Her father's Air Force career took them to Biloxi, Mississippi and Del Rio, Texas before they returned to Claremont (California) when Alba was nine years old. Alba described her family as "very conservative, a traditional, Catholic, Latin American and Latin American family" while she described herself as very liberal. She says she was already a "feminist" when she was five.
